Economy System
Base-materials-only economy — gather raw resources, sell to the server, trade crafted gear with players
CincySMP uses a two-tier market. The server shop (/shop) only buys and sells 288 raw base materials — ores, logs, crops, and mob drops. Crafted items (tools, armor, potions, processed blocks) and rare boss loot have no server sell price and must be traded through player chest shops. Money enters through gathering and daily rewards; it leaves through fees, taxes, rank gates, and high admin-shop buy prices.
How the Economy Works
Three pillars — faucets, player trading, and sinks — with raw materials only on the server side
Money In (Faucets)
/sell handand/sellgui— sell base materials only (288 items)- Server shop buyback — same prices as
/worth - Starting balance — $500 for new players
/daily— login streak rewards ($200–$1,500/day)
Player Trading
- Chest shops — trade any item, including crafted gear and rare loot
/pay— direct player-to-player transfers- Craft base materials into valuable items and sell them at your shop for profit
- No money created or destroyed in P2P trades — only circulated
Money Out (Sinks)
- Teleport costs — /home $50, /back $100
- Shop fees — creation, maintenance, price changes, naming
- Shop transaction tax — 2–12% based on seller balance
- Rankup costs — $10k / $50k / $250k
- Claim blocks — $5/block for land protection
- Coinflip tax — 5–12% on wagers
- Server shop buy prices — 4:1 or 5:1 markup over sell prices
- Kits and spawners — buy-only, no sell-back
Server Shop (/shop)
A server-run GUI shop with fixed prices — always available, always stocked
Open with /shop. Categories 1–3 trade base materials both ways. Categories 4–5 (Spawners and Kits) are buy-only money sinks. Buy prices use a 5:1 ratio on common materials and 4:1 on rare/valuable items — the server pays less than it charges.
Ores & Minerals
Raw ores, refined metals, gems, dusts, and mineable minerals — 39 items with buy and sell prices
Examples: Coal, Iron Ingot, Diamond, Lapis, Redstone, Netherite Ingot, Ancient Debris
Pricing: 5:1 common · 4:1 rare
Nature & Farming
Logs, planks, earth blocks, crops, flowers, wool, ice, moss, and sculk — 205 items
Examples: Oak Log, Cobblestone, Wheat, Dirt, Sand, Wool, Obsidian, Sponge
Pricing: 5:1 common · 4:1 rare
Mob Drops
Raw and cooked meats, bones, gunpowder, pearls, blaze rods, and other mob loot — 44 items
Examples: Gunpowder, Blaze Rod, Ghast Tear, Ender Pearl, Cooked Beef, Leather, Bone
Pricing: 5:1 common · 4:1 rare
Spawners
Buy-only mob spawners for building XP farms and grinders — no sell-back
Examples: Spider ($45k), Zombie/Skeleton ($50k), Creeper ($75k), Iron Golem ($250k)
Pricing: Buy-only
Kits
Buy-only rank gear loadouts dispensed via command — no sell-back
Examples: Starter ($500), Member ($2k), Trusted ($8k), VIP ($35k), MVP ($150k), OG ($1M)
Pricing: Buy-only
What the Server Will NOT Buy
The server only trades raw base materials. These items cannot be sold via /sell hand, /sellgui, or the server shop — use player shops instead:
- Tools, weapons, and armor (all tiers)
- Potions, splash potions, tipped arrows
- Processed blocks — stairs, slabs, glass panes, bricks, concrete
- Redstone components — pistons, hoppers, comparators, rails
- Enchanted books and anvil output
- Rare boss/endgame loot — elytra, totems, nether stars, tridents
Buy vs. Sell Pricing
Common materials (5:1 ratio)
Cobblestone sells for $0.40 — buying it back costs $2.00. Wheat sells for $1, buy price $5. Most logs, crops, earth blocks, and common mob drops use this ratio.
Rare materials (4:1 ratio)
A diamond sells for $75 at the server. Buy price is $300 (4:1 ratio). Same for emerald, netherite, ender pearls, blaze rods, obsidian, and ancient debris. Player shops will offer better rates for both buying and selling crafted or rare items.
Selling to the Server
Convert gathered base materials into cash — the primary money faucet
Sell Commands
/sell hand— sell the item you're holding (EssentialsX, usesworth.yml)/sell hand 64— sell a specific stack amount/sell <item>— sell by item name from inventory/sellgui— open bulk-sell GUI for all 288 base materials/worth— check sell price of held item (returns nothing for non-sellable items)
If an item has no worth value, the server won't buy it. Crafted gear and rare loot must go to player shops.

Player Shops
Create chest shops to trade with other players — the primary market for crafted items and rare loot
Creating a Shop
- 1 Place a chest and fill it with the items you want to sell (or leave empty for a buy shop)
- 2 Hit the chest with the item you want to trade while sneaking
- 3 Type the price per item in chat when prompted
- 4 Shop is live — a virtual item display floats above the chest
Costs $100 to create. Toggle between sell/buy mode by sneaking and clicking your own shop.
Managing Your Shops
- Change price — click your shop, select "Set Price" ($25 fee)
- Restock — open the chest and add items directly
- Toggle mode — switch between buy/sell by sneak-clicking your shop
- Remove shop — break the chest (no refund on creation fee)
- View history — see recent transactions through the shop control panel
- Set display name — customize shop label ($10 fee)
Maintenance fee of $5/day per shop. If you can't pay, the shop stays but is marked inactive until funded.
Shop Limits by Rank
| Rank | Max Shops | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Default | 5 | Buy & sell shops, single chest |
| Member | 10 | Buy & sell shops, single chest |
| Trusted | 20 | Double-chest shops |
| VIP | 40 | Stacked item shops |
| MVP | 80 | Tax-free (bypasses all brackets) |
Tax System
Two separate tax systems — shop tax on player shop sales (balance-based) and coinflip tax on wagers (bet-based)
Shop Tax (QuickShop)
- Tax is deducted from the shop owner's earnings — buyer pays listed price, seller receives price minus tax
- Bracket is based on your total balance at transaction time — not your rank
- Tax revenue is permanently removed from the economy
- MVP rank is tax-exempt on all player shop sales
| Your Balance | Tax Rate | Stage |
|---|---|---|
| $0 – $9,999 | 2% | Early game |
| $10,000 – $49,999 | 5% | Mid game |
| $50,000 – $249,999 | 7% | Late game |
| $250,000 – $999,999 | 10% | Endgame |
| $1,000,000+ | 12% | Wealth cap |
Worked example: You have $15,000 and sell a diamond pickaxe for $500 in your shop. Tax bracket is 5%. You receive $475 ($25 removed from the economy).
Coinflip Tax (UltraCoinFlip)
- Tax is based on bet amount, not your balance — separate from shop tax
- Applied to the total pot before the winner is paid
- VIP and MVP bypass coinflip tax entirely
| Bet Amount (per player) | Tax on Total Pot |
|---|---|
| $0 – $999 | 5% |
| $1,000 – $9,999 | 8% |
| $10,000+ | 12% |
Worked example: Two players each bet $5,000 ($10,000 pot). Tax is 12% = $1,200 removed. Winner receives $8,800.
Coinflip Gambling
Risk in-game money on 50/50 flips — a wealth transfer with a built-in sink
PvP Wagers
Create a flip with /cf create money <amount>. Another player joins from the menu; winner takes the pot minus tax. Invite specific players with /cf invite.
Bot Gambling
Play against the server with /cf create money <amount> bot. Instant 50/50 against the house. Over time this is a pure money sink since tax always applies (unless VIP+).
Limits & VIP Bypass
Daily and weekly bet caps, minimum reserve balance, and progressive tax protect the economy. VIP+ bypasses coinflip tax — consistent with MVP's shop tax exemption.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Min bet | $100 |
| Max bet | $50,000 |
| Min reserve | $100 |
| Daily limit | $25,000 |
| Weekly limit | $100,000 |
| VIP+ tax bypass | Yes |
